This project aims to utilize private funds and know-how to create a lively atmosphere around Hiroshima Castle and increase mobility in the city center by developing commercial facilities in the Sannomaru area of Hiroshima Castle and holding events in the project area. Hiroshima Castle Associates, based on the concept of "learning from the past to create something new," will strive to preserve and pass on historical sites and traditional culture, and contribute to the creation of an attractive city that makes use of its history.

Sannomaru will feature restaurants, including the "SOKO Cafe (tentative name)," where visitors can experience the world of the Ueda Soko school of samurai tea ceremony, as well as souvenir shops selling local products. Plans also call for the establishment of a multipurpose plaza where kagura and other performances can be held, as well as parking for private cars, making it a place that both tourists and local residents can enjoy.

Leveraging the strengths of Hiroshima Castle Associates, we will also focus on disseminating information through television, radio, newspapers, digital media, and social media, and will work to convey the appeal of the Sannomaru area of Hiroshima Castle to many people.We will also cooperate with surrounding tourist spots and work with various facilities in the Peace Memorial Park and the Kamiyacho/Hatchobori area to attract visitors and increase the mobility of people around downtown Hiroshima.

This is the start of a new journey to experience history and learn more about Hiroshima.
Hiroshima Castle is the starting point of the city of Hiroshima. After the castle was built, the castle town was formed on the Ota River Delta. It continued to expand through land reclamation, and developed into a political, economic, and transportation center. The area also has a rich culture that has been preserved and passed down, including the Ueda Soko school of tea ceremony, which is a descendant of the samurai class, and Takamori-e, a lacquerware technique established by Kinjo Ikkokusai.
Many historical sites were lost in the atomic bombing, but the history of the castle town itself has not disappeared. Only by making use of history can we create an attractive urban space.
In other words, "learn from the past and create something new" - this phrase is the concept of this project. We will reexamine Hiroshima Castle as a place where you can experience history and culture, and maximize its potential as a tourist destination.
