1HIROSHIMA GATE PARK PLAZA

A large space of approximately 6,500 m2 has been placed in the center of the park where a variety of events can be held. The space can be flexibly divided depending on how it is used, such as as an event venue, backyard, or regular park use, and can be zoned to suit a variety of events.

2-Piece Promenade

Based on the concept of Kenzo Tange, who was selected to design Peace Memorial Park, a new 190m long promenade lined with cherry blossom trees has been constructed on the "north-south axis (Axis of Peace)" when looking out from the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims to the Atomic Bomb Dome. Somei-Yoshino cherry trees line both sides of the promenade, and part of the central pavement is made from stone paving that was used for the streetcar lined with atomic bombings.

The facility inherits the shape of the former Hiroshima Municipal Baseball Stadium and offers a variety of outdoor activities thanks to its various configurations. It can be used as benches to encourage outdoor use, and there is also a ribbon along the lawn where you can lie down. It also includes a water supply that is always available, and a power source that can be used for events.

6.Large Roof Plaza

The structure design incorporates elements of folded paper cranes into a row of trees that is conscious of the park's landscape, and the structural form in which pillar units support each other has resulted in a large, spacious roofed plaza that combines a small space with a large open space.

10.Koi Forest - Rest Area

In keeping with the memory of the old Hiroshima Municipal Baseball Stadium, we have created a rest area that utilizes the benches (seating) in the outfield right-side stands along the outer wall line. This memorial area houses the Hiroshima Toyo Carp championship monument, which can be viewed from the rest area.

The buildings are single- and two-story buildings with a horizontal design in muted colors, and consideration has been given to the surrounding landscape by making the facilities and equipment less visible.

By arranging the facility's pillars in a tree-lined structure, the building and trees are in harmony, creating a landscape that further enhances the park's appeal.
