Click hereSapporo City (Mayor: Katsuhiro Akimoto), the STARTUP HOKKAIDO Executive Committee (Chairperson: Mina Tsuchida, hereinafter referred to as the SH Executive Committee), and NTT Urban Development Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroshi Tsujigami, hereinafter referred to as NTT Urban Development) are pleased to announce that they have concluded a collaboration agreement to promote the creation and accumulation of startups in Sapporo City and Hokkaido, as well as support their growth.

Background and Objectives
Sapporo City launched the "STARTUP CITY SAPPORO Project" in 2019 and has been promoting support for the business growth of startups. In addition, Hokkaido, Sapporo City, and the Hokkaido Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry have established an all-Hokkaido system in July 2023 to create an ecosystem that will produce and nurture startups with global ambitions, and have established the SH Executive Committee as the driving force behind this system.
NTT Urban Development is promoting real estate development in Sapporo, including the "Sapporo Kita 1 Nishi 5 Project (tentative name)." As part of this, the company aims to promote interaction between companies of various industries and business types, from large corporations to ventures and startups, and to create a "new business hub" that will contribute to the creation of innovation.
The purpose of this collaboration agreement is to realize an ecosystem in which startups are continuously produced and developed in Sapporo City and throughout Hokkaido by having each of the parties - Sapporo City, SH Executive Committee, and NTT Urban Development- utilize their respective strengths and work together to consider locations for startup hubs, promote the creation and concentration of startups, and support their growth.

Future Initiatives
Sapporo City and the SH Executive Committee plan to establish a new base for the SH Executive Committee in the future, and will accelerate support for startup business growth through various activities at this base.
NTT Urban Development also supports the series of initiatives undertaken by Sapporo City and the SH Executive Committee to build an ecosystem in which startups are continuously produced and developed in Sapporo and throughout Hokkaido, and will provide support to the SH Executive Committee.
