NTT Urban Development Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroshi Tsujigami) is pleased to announce that through its UK subsidiary (NTT UD Europe Ltd.), it will be collaborating with Related Argent Group (hereinafter "RA") to develop the Brent Crosstown Plot 15 Project (tentative name) (hereinafter "the Project"), a project consisting of three rental housing buildings with a total of 226 units in London, UK.
This project forms part of the advanced development area of Brent Cross Town, a large-scale redevelopment project in London's Brent Cross area led by RA and the local government of Barnet. RA, our business partner, is known for the redevelopment of London's King's Cross, and contributes to the development of local communities and the resolution of social issues through urban development. RA's work is highly compatible with our company's emphasis on the environment and well-being, and we expect to see collaboration and synergies in the medium to long term.
Mitsui Fudosan will participate in a housing project in the UK in 2023, and through this project, which will be its second housing project, it will contribute to resolving the housing shortage, which is a social issue in London, and will further expand its UK business.
About Brent Crosstown
Brent Cross Town is located approximately 10 km northwest of central London, approximately 12 minutes by train. Redevelopment of the area began in 2015 under the leadership of RA and the local government of Barnet. The new Brent Cross West station, the area's nearest station on the Thameslink Line, is scheduled to open in 2023. With a planned development area of 73 hectares and 6,700 homes, it is the largest development in the London suburbs. Plans call for the development of multiple uses, including residential, office, commercial, and educational facilities, fostering a rich, thriving community through interaction among these diverse facilities and buildings. The area also includes a 20-hectare park and sports field, creating a natural living environment close to the city center. Furthermore, by reducing carbon dioxide emissions during construction, utilizing highly energy-efficient buildings, and utilizing a district heating and cooling system, the entire development is expected to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030.
<About this project>
Taking advantage of its location just a four-minute walk from Brent Cross West Station, which is scheduled to open in December 2023, this project targets single households and families commuting to central London by offering a wide range of floor plans, from studio apartments to three-bedroom apartments. In addition, the common areas will be mutually accessible with neighboring apartments, and residents will be provided with a wide range of amenities, including a pool, lounge, gym, and cinema room.
We will attract retail tenants to the first floor of the residential tower, improving convenience for residents and contributing to the creation of a vibrant town. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of this fiscal year, with completion in fiscal 2027.
