Kanden Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. (Head office: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; President and CEO: Fukumoto Emi), NTT Urban Development Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ikeda Yasushi), and Sumitomo Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Ueno Shingo) are jointly planning a condominium development project at Nakanoshima 5-3, tentatively titled the "Nakanoshima 5-3 Project."
This project will have a total floor area of over 100,000 m and a height of over 150 m, and therefore falls under the category of a new building construction project as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Building Standards Act. As part of the procedures under the Osaka City Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance, the three companies submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment Methodology Document to Osaka City on August 16, 2024, which summarized the environmental impact assessment items, surveys, predictions, and assessment methods, and have since conducted an environmental impact assessment using methods determined based on opinions, etc. As a result, on August 21, 2025, the three companies submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment Draft to Osaka City, which summarized the environmental impact assessment, including the prediction assessment.
Through this project, the three companies will continue to work to revitalize the entire Nakanoshima 5-chome district through intensive land utilization, and by creating attractive building exteriors and exterior spaces around the site, they aim to create a landscape befitting the Nakanoshima area, a symbolic zone of "Aqua Metropolis Osaka," and to realize attractive, safe, and secure urban living.
