NTT Urban Development Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as "NTT Urban Development"), NTT Communications Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as "NTT Com"), and NTT DATA Corporation (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as "NTT DATA") are the services provided by NTT Com and NTT DATA to provide optimal air conditioning control services using indoor environment prediction AI * (hereinafter referred to as the "Service") will be introduced in the common areas of five large-scale office buildings owned by NTT Urban Development from May 2024 and will begin operating sequentially in the future.

1.About this service

In a typical office building, air conditioning equipment accounts for approximately 50% of the building's overall energy consumption, making reducing air conditioning-related energy consumption a major issue.

This service uses data such as weather, indoor temperature and humidity, and people flow to predict changes in room temperature and the comfort of building occupants, and proactively controls the air conditioning (feedforward control based on environmental predictions), achieving both comfort and energy savings. This feature makes it easy to apply to shared spaces where people move around, such as commercial spaces, exhibition halls, and around office entrances. It can also be introduced without updating air conditioning equipment, by adding a system for analyzing and issuing control instructions on the cloud.

Starting in August 2022, a field demonstration of this service will be conducted in the common areas of Urbannet Urbannet Nagoya nexta Building owned by NTT Urban Development. The service was confirmed to reduce air conditioning energy consumption by approximately 30%, and the service will be introduced in the common areas of five other buildings, including this building.
