NTT Urban Development Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kou Ikeda; hereinafter "NTT Urban Development") and Link Japan Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shinichi Kawachiyasu; hereinafter "Link Japan") are pleased to announce that Link Japan's IoT platform app "HomeLink" has been developed to suit NTT Urban Development 's condominium brand "Wellith" and will be introduced to "Wellith Sagami-Ono."

NTT Urban Development and Link Japan have created a more user-friendly operating environment by consolidating various functions necessary for apartment living into one app, and will provide the convenient and comfortable "Smart Comfort Life" NTT Urban Development aims for with "Wellith," which utilizes IoT to allow users to control their home regardless of time or place.

[Background to introduction]

NTT Urban Development 's Wellith condominiums have been working to create a comfortable lifestyle by introducing IoT-enabled devices such as intercoms and water heaters and expanding the functionality of the condominium portal site. However, when using various functions such as controlling IoT devices or reserving shared facilities, it was necessary to access multiple apps and web pages, which created usability issues.

NTT Urban Development has teamed up with Link Japan to develop an original UI for Wellith based on Link Japan's HomeLink app. In addition to linking with the condominium portal site, the single app allows users to control all home functions with a single smartphone, and also supports the addition of software service functions such as medical integration, providing a convenient and comfortable next-generation lifestyle known as "Smart Comfort Life."

About the IoT smart home integrated app "HomeLink"

"HomeLink" is an integrated smart home app that allows you to intuitively manage and operate your entire home. It can link your home with not only Link Japan's own products, but also products and services from major domestic manufacturers, solving a major problem in the spread of smart homes, such as "apps that are difficult to use because they are separate for each manufacturer and product."

"HomeLink" is characterized by a software-based approach, which is the original purpose of a smart home, rather than the traditional hardware-based approach that focuses on the device itself, whereby the equipment is always the latest when it is installed. As a result, future updates will add new services such as appropriate health consultations based on vital data and medical collaboration, and early disease detection using big data and AI, thereby continuously providing new value to residents and promoting not only the comfort of their homes but also their well-being.
