Mori Trust Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Miwako Date) and NTT Urban Development Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kou Ikeda) are pleased to announce that the first phase of the large-scale mixed-use development project they are jointly undertaking, "Tokyo World Gate Akasaka," was completed in August, and a completion ceremony was held today.
Tokyo World Gate Akasaka is a large-scale mixed-use development project that has been certified as a National Strategic Urban Planning Building Development Project in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area National Strategic Special Zone (commonly known as the "National Strategic Special Zone") and aims to strengthen the international competitiveness of the Toranomon and Akasaka areas. Based on the block concept of "Next Destination," the project plans to provide office space that will contribute to improving employee engagement, as well as develop an international-standard hotel and serviced apartments. In addition, by opening facilities that communicate the history and culture rooted in Akasaka and developing large-scale green spaces, the project aims to create a hub that will function as a gateway connecting Japan with the world from both the business and tourism perspectives.
The first phase of construction of Tokyo World Gate Akasaka was completed in August, and a completion ceremony was held today. Currently, the medical facility Medical Square Akasaka has opened and is in operation ahead of the other facilities.
As we move towards the official completion of the second phase, we aim to create a well-being district that contributes to improving physical and mental health and productivity, and will proceed with measures such as attracting a foreign luxury hotel for the first time in Japan and developing a comfortable pedestrian space connecting Tokyo World Gate Akasaka and Akasaka Hikawa Shrine.
