The AHEAD Awards are global awards hosted by the British hotel design magazine Sleeper, and are held in four regions: Asia, America, Europe, and the Middle East/Africa. Judged not just for aesthetic beauty, but also from multiple perspectives such as user experience, project feasibility, and innovativeness, the highly prestigious awards attract the attention of architects, interior designers, hotel operators, developers, and other people involved in the hotel industry around the world.

The Patina Suite, which won the "Suite Room Category Award" this time, is the largest room type at 233 m2 and comes with a living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining room, balcony with a view of Osaka Castle, and a bathroom with a steam sauna, creating a luxurious and relaxing space.
The guest room design, inspired by Osaka Castle, fully inherits the techniques of Japanese craftsmen that have been passed down since the castle was built, and is made up of a collection of Japanese artisan techniques such as wood, stone, plastering, and washi paper, while valuing materials and textures.The washi art on the headboard, which is modeled after the actual stone wall of Osaka Castle, is the symbol of the guest room, and elements that give a sense of connection to the land are scattered throughout.
In addition to winning the "Suite Room Category Award," for which interior design was handled by Strickland Co., Ltd., Patina Osaka was also shortlisted in four categories at the AHEAD Awards Asia 2025: "Hotel New Build," "Restaurant," "Spa & Wellness," and "Bar, Club or Lounge," with only 38 projects selected out of 170 entries in the Asia-Pacific region, and its public spaces have also received high praise.
Furthermore, NTT Urban Development plans to open "Capella Kyoto (former Shinmichi Elementary School site utilization project)," which will be operated by the same Capella Hotel Group, in 2026.
