Completed construction of "The Rex," the first residential development project in the UK

NTT Urban Development Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kou Ikeda) is pleased to announce that it completed construction of "The Rex," a co-living rental property in Kingston, London, UK, which it has been developing together with Amro Real Estate Partners (hereinafter "Amro") through its UK subsidiary, NTT UD Europe Ltd., in November and held a completion ceremony in December. This property marks the company's first residential development project in the UK.

Furthermore, the property achieved the highest possible rating of Outstanding in the BREEAM *1 environmental performance index assessment during the design stage, and if it officially achieves Outstanding in the final assessment after completion, it is expected to become the first such example *2 of a co-living residence in the UK.

The property is expected to receive the highest rating in the BREEAM environmental performance index, and has also received a B rating, the second highest, in the EPC energy performance index *3.

In addition, the property's CO2 emission reduction approach, which makes full use of smart building technology, such as AI-based automatic air conditioning management based on data such as the number of people in the room and the outside temperature, has proven that its energy performance exceeds the building code regulations, and it is expected to meet the LETI *4 2030 target.

Furthermore, the building has received the highest rating of 3 in Fitwel, an index that evaluates the health of residents *5, and the highest rating of Platinum in WiredScore, an index of a building's internet connection environment *6.
