The name of the new "pacela" aquarium has been decided as "Hiroshima Motomachi Aquarium"

Aquament Co., Ltd. (Head office: Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture; President and CEO: Kazuo Okura) and NTT Urban Development Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yasushi Ikeda) are pleased to announce that they have decided on the concept, name, and logo for the aquarium scheduled to open in autumn 2025 on the 7th floor of the new pacela commercial facility within Motomachi Credo (Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture).

The aquarium has a total floor area of approximately 2,700 m2 and is a spatially designed aquarium where visitors can enjoy the aquarium tanks and creatures in a unique setting in each scene.

By providing entertainment and learning opportunities that stimulate the five senses and creating a space that is friendly to people of all ages and tourists, we hope to contribute to the creation of a lively local community and the promotion of tourism and culture.

1.Aquarium Concept

Our aquarium conveys a different message for each of its eight stages (scenes), showcasing the underwater world and the activities of living creatures, expressing the strength and fragility of life. Each stage is connected, reflecting the fascinating creatures living in diverse environments and illustrating our aquarium's theme, "The Stage of Life." We aim to convey the wonders of nature and the preciousness of life to a broad audience, delivering moving impressions and resonance that resonate deeply with you.

2.Aquarium name and logo

"Hiroshima Motomachi Aquarium"

English name: "AQUA ALIVE MUSEUM"

"Hiroshima Motomachi Aquarium"

The aquarium's name comes from the place name "Motomachi," the town where Hiroshima began, and "Motomachi" is written in hiragana, giving it a soft and friendly impression. The logo symbolizes a drop of water spreading like ripples, depicting the beginning of life (an egg).

    The exhibition is designed to allow visitors to experience the miracles and connections of life, providing an opportunity for them to think deeply about nature and life.
