Grand opening of the commercial complex "HAROW" today, April 18th (Fri)

April 18, 2025NTT Urban Development Corporation

NTT Urban Development Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yasushi Ikeda) is pleased to announce that the complex commercial facility "HAROW *1" (hereinafter "the Facility"), which had previously opened in Hiroshima 1-chome, Miyazaki City, will have its grand opening today, Friday, April 18, 2025.

The opening ceremony marked a spectacular start with a sake barrel opening ceremony performed by Miyazaki City Mayor Tomonori Kiyoyama and other guests. To commemorate the opening of the facility, an opening event will be held over three days, from April 18th (Friday) to April 20th (Sunday).

This facility utilizes Miyazaki Prefecture's first pedestrian accessibility road system (commonly known as the "Hokomichi System") *2, and has constructed a deck (hereinafter referred to as the "Hokomichi Deck") in the road space in front of Takachiho Street as a dining facility where visitors can stay.In addition, the Guruppi bus stop, event space, and shared terrace installed within the facility will improve mobility in central Miyazaki City and contribute to creating even more excitement.

  • "HAROW" is the general term for "HAROW Hiroshima-dori (5-30 Hiroshima 1-chome, Miyazaki City)," which will open partially in advance on Saturday, November 23, 2024, and "HAROW Takachiho-dori (5-13 Hiroshima 1-chome, Miyazaki City)," which will open on Friday, April 18, 2025.
  • The Road Space Utilization Council for the Takachiho-dori Area decided in December 2023 to redevelop the 700m section of road space from the Miyazaki Station intersection to the Tachibana-dori 3-chome intersection and utilize the Hokomichi system, aiming to create a space that is "comfortable and inviting to walk." In July 2024, Miyazaki Prefecture designated the area as a road for promoting pedestrian convenience, and in March 2025, it designated the sidewalk in front of HAROW Takachiho-dori as a convenience promotion zone.
